WHAT CAN YOU DO TO BEAT WORK-RELATED STRESS?

Making small changes at first can sometimes help to make the problem more manageable to solve. ACAS found that 41% of people who feel stressed at work do things during the workday to help themselves feel better, such as making a cup of tea or going for a walk (ACAS, May 2019).

This is encouraging as it shows that some people are already thinking about their self-care needs.

What do you do during your working day to help relieve stress? Perhaps it’s a walk at lunchtime, chatting to a colleague, making a coffee or practicing deep breathing.

If appropriate you could also try a complementary health therapy, such as reflexology, to help reduce your stress and help you relax.

This is exactly what I did 11 years ago when I was feeling stressed at work and I’ve never looked back. So much so, I trained to become a reflexologist because I wanted to share my passion and help other people experience the benefits of this wonderfully relaxing treatment.

WHAT IS REFLEXOLOGY?

Bear in mind that reflexology isn’t used to diagnose or cure illnesses and it shouldn’t be used as an alternative to seeking medical help. It you’re feeling unwell or have any medical concerns, consult your GP or healthcare professional.

WHAT DOES HAPPY PLACE REFLEXOLOGY OFFER?

Happy Place Reflexology offers reflexology in workplaces in and around Surbiton and Chessington (as well as offering treatments at Beauty On The Outside in Surbiton).

Reflexology in the workplace can support other health and wellbeing initiatives that employers will have in place as part of their duty of care under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

Happy Place Reflexology offers full or half day packages, made up of shorter treatments (e.g. 30 or 45 minutes) or the normal 60 minutes.

Treatments can be paid for by the employer (e.g. pay a half or full day rate), or staff can pay themselves for individual treatments.

Would your workplace be interested in having a reflexologist on-site to do treatments for staff during the working day? Would you consider having a reflexology treatment outside of work hours? Some employers even offer allowances that you can put towards complementary health therapies.

Happy Place Reflexology is following strict hygiene guidelines set out by the government and the Association of Reflexologists (AoR) to help make sure clients are as safe as possible during the Covid-19 pandemic. This includes temporarily closing when required (e.g. during a national lockdown in England).
